Connecticut Pistol Permit

The NRA Basic Pistol course is a requirement to obtain your Connecticut pistol permit. The objective of the basic pistol course is to teach the basic knowledge, skills and attitude necessary for the safe and proper use of pistols and revolvers. The course covers the parts of pistols and ammunition, how pistols and ammunition function, safe firearm handling, shooting positions, cleaning, and live fire exercises. The fee for this class includes all classroom materials, firearms, ammunition and all other needed range equipment.
In order to obtain a Connecticut State Permit to Carry Pistols and Revolvers you must be 21 years of age and complete this course. Before attending the class visit your local police station and pick up a Connecticut pistol permit application and fill it out except for the instructor information and signature. It is required for you to sign this form in the instructor’s presence for it to be properly notarized.
The classroom portion will take place at our training facility. The shooting portion will take place the same day at a shooting range about 30 minutes away.
